Got an article from a friend written by Chris Demorro at The Recorder at Central Connecticut State University (great source, huh). In it, he goes into detail about why the Toyota Prius, because of the inputs and testing standards, is actually worse for the environment than the Hummer, which is a gas hog. It’s an interesting contrast, plus a cruel joke on people who drive them. (As Scott Adam’s pointed out in his recent blog post, they aren’t the coolest looking cars to own.) So is it a cover-up, or is it just spin trying to capitalize on the current popularity of green economics? Or is Chris Demorro’s argument just way off? Either way, it’s an interesting counter-point to the green movement…
