I was talking to my boss the other day, and we both agreed that we’re disappointed in the current “ruling” party in the US. I thought Republicans were supposed to be fiscally conservative and free market friendly? Yet these guys (to use the word in its gender-non-specific form) seem to have forgotten that. They have enacted more pork-barrel policies than any of their predecessors in the hopes that they can buy their way back this November in the elections. Honestly, did anybody really believe their proposal to “give every taxpayer $100 to pay for gas” wasn’t a poor attempt at buying popularity for the upcoming elections? And the idea (proposed by the Democrats) to tax “windfall” profits of the oil and gas companies? What kind of stupid policy proposal is that? They might as well say they don’t like the fact that companies are making money at all, and it should all come to them (the government) so they can redistribute it according to their all-knowing ways…

Oh, wait. That would be socialism…
